About the artist: Pratibha Jani

She immigrated from Mumbai, India to New Jersey over 36 years ago and has been a resident of Piscataway Township since 2014. As an undergraduate she studied Ancient Indian History, earning a Bachelor's degree from the University of Bombay. She is also a certified Yoga and meditation instructor. When she is not painting, she teaches Yoga and meditation classes. She loves nature and her artwork reflects this in seascapes, landscapes, and abstracts. She uses acrylics on canvas in her paintings. The tropical scenes in her paintings bring back her childhood memories of warm sunsets, beaches, ocean, and flowing rivers. She loves to capture majestic snowy mountains and the evergreens. Her love for painting grew even stronger during the Covid-19 pandemic, during which time she was also diagnosed and treated for cancer. Being a cancer survivor gave her a new outlook on life and its fragile nature. During this time, painting has brought her mind a sense of joy, peace, and calm within. She hopes to bring the same feeling of happiness to others with her paintings.

Her paintings were recently displayed at the Piscataway Township Kennedy Library.

Her painting are on display a tthe Piscataway YMCA community center. from oct 1o th to Nov 10th 2023

Some of her paintings are for sale. For more details, contact her at: pratibhajani@gmail.com or call 973-978-8263
